I am a huge fan of Mercedes Lackey and this was my version of the pass where Vanyel held his last stand. The colour is off on this illustration as my original work is 19"x24" and this copy was from a smaller copy I had in my files. Still large, I had to scan in two parts and piece them together in the middle.
Thanks for the compliment Hito! Glad to see ya back safe and sound. Missed your exuberance on the boards. And I love Mercedes Lackey books too, the Magic series with Vanyel and the Talia ones are my faves.
Eeeeee, I recognized it right away! T___T. Wow, this is a beautiful picture, most of the Valdemar fanart isn't actually of Valdemar itself, eheh. XD;;;;;; I love the looming cliffs, & the sky is fantastic! The colors are awesome, & the texture of the rock looks great too, this really is an awesome piece. did I mentioned I the sky?
I really have to check the Deviant site more often! LOL!! Has it been two months??!??? Just wanted to thank you for the nice comments regarding my Valdemar pic.
I knew that was what the picture of! That creepy, long, blood-carved canyon... great job!

I want to meet Vanyel so bad it hurts sometimes.
But he's dead.
And a figment of our imaginations.
And I'm sad.
*really, really sad*
