Where has the time flown?

Tue Apr 24, 2007, 9:52 PM
My memory has never been very reliable so I write notes to myself or email reminders to do this or get this or remember dinner with friends. Pretty sad! :)) At least I am willing to admit that my memory sucks and accommodate it. I have to remind myself to check the Deviant Art site more often as there is great stuff to inspire and just appreciate for what it is.

Been saying this for ages but I have decided to try my hand at oil pastels. Intend to take some courses and experiment as I was inspired by the site my sister mentioned, check out Pastel Artists Canada:

Inspiration comes in all forms. It can be the pure beauty of a water droplet beading on a leaf, an image spotted on television, a poem or scent. I believe that life around us provides inspiration and fires creativity and passion.

Be inspired!

  • Listening to: The sound of rain beating against my window
  • Reading: Patricia Cornwell

I should try and remember to check this site more

Tis sad when but when I last wrote an entry for this journal...was almost 11 months ago!!!!!!!!!!!! Another year and I still have no new art to add to my gallery. :( I really need to make an effort to work on some new stuff as I am feeling rather stifled creatively and it is my own fault.

But real life has a way of intruding constantly but if you want something badly enough, you will find a way to accomplish it. At least, that is what I keep telling my self. Keep dreaming as if you have no dreams you have nothing.

Gotta stay positive! :)

The end of another year and a fresh beginning!

The older I get, the faster time flies. At least, that is the way it feels! Many changes this year, I moved to a bigger place at the end of June and tis lovely to have space and not be crammed into a little one bedroom apartment. *does happy dance*

My wrist is all healed but I am still mousing with my left hand because now I am so used to it that it feels weird using my right hand. Still write with my right hand, my motor skills aren't THAT good! LOL

With the move and still not totally unpacked judging from all those boxes still in my living room, but a bit more settled. Hoping to start sketching and trying out the tablet in the new year...at least that is my plan!

Looking forward to the few days off for Christmas and spending time with the parents and friends. Wish you all a wonderful holiday season and a bright and happy New Year!!!

On the mend

My physio treatments for my tendonitis is now complete. Even though I am not 100 percent with my right hand. The rest of the healing is now up to me, I have to do light weights to strengthen and ice occasionally when my hand is tired and sore. Still hurts when I write though it's not as painful as it originally was.

Otherwise, have alot of things to do as I am moving at the end of the month. Hoping when I am in the new place and my hand improving, I will be able to use and experiment with my new Wacom Intuous tablet. :D

Ever have one of those weeks? I mentioned in my earlier journal entry that I had tendonitis and had to limit the use of my right hand. Well, I injured my wrist on the weekend and I can barely hold a pencil! At least it wasn't broken as the doctor had it x-rayed.

*sighs mournfully* Will have my physio assessment next week and I am hoping the physio will help me get some mobility back in my writing hand.

Leaving you with one of my favourite quotes:

"Do or do not...there is no try!" by Yoda who kicked butt in Attack Of the Clones.
